Who I am
I grew up in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School before pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University – Idaho. Prior to graduation, I took a leave from college to realize a lifetime goal to volunteer as a missionary for 2 years in Southern Peru. Upon returning, I continued pursuing my degree while serving as a volunteer English tutor for students in Mexico, Peru, and Columbia. It was during that time that I met my wife and best friend, Nicole. In 2019 I finished graduate school earning a Master’s Degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. My most recent adventures have included the birth of our son Landen, running a marathon, visiting Europe, and adopting our newest dog Tucker.
Why I chose this profession
While I love accounting, particularly tax, I never felt like focusing solely on taxes was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In 2015 I interned with Colton Wealth Management and found a profession that combined both my interest in applying my technical skills with the ability to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life, which is something that I am passionate about.
What I do at Colton Wealth Management
The primary duties that I perform at CWM include leading our financial planning, tax planning, and tax preparation. In addition, I work closely with clients on their investment allocations and any questions that arise to and through retirement.
